Cosack Articulated And Swivel Table Lamp, Model 7614
Articulated and swiveling table lamp by Cosack, model 7614, original edition from the 1970s. It is equipped with three E27 sockets, providing ample and even lighting diffused by a thick white acrylic shade. The lamp is in very good condition. It has remained with its first owner, stored in its original packaging. Three LED bulbs are included. Dimensions: H. 73 cm × Shade Ø 44 cm × W. 60 cm (when extended). Some time ago, we featured an articulated floor lamp by Swisslamps International, the famous Schwenkomat. This model was also available as a tall lamp. The lamp produced by Cosack in the 1970s belongs to this same industrial context and corresponds to a competing model developed during the same period. Both versions are based on a comparable formal principle, while exhibiting design variations that reveal each manufacturer's specific choices: With Cosack, the junction between the base and the stem is direct, without a cyma molding, while the Swisslamps version adopts a tulip-shaped transition. The surface of the lamp's base is flat on the Swisslamps version, whereas it is slightly convex on the Cosack version. The outline of the stem is rounded on the Swisslamps version and straight on the Cosack version. These subtle but identifiable differences allow us to precisely situate each production and demonstrate the diversity of industrial interpretations of the same type of lamp at that time.
