First quarter of the 20th century, oil painting signed lower right "Paul..." A mountain scene, the inscription to be deciphered, depicting a lively seascape at the gates of Marseille (Étang de Berre). It bears a label on the back: "Magasin Général, Rue Saint-Férréol." Established in 1857 at numbers 21-23 on this street, this department store, one of the first in Marseille, brought a touch of the capital's novelty to the inhabitants. Sold unframed.
