Hippolyte Boulanger Period – circa 1890–1905. Oval fine earthenware dish with painted decoration of ducks (?) in a pastoral landscape, presented in an elegant brass mount with a bamboo motif, inspired by Japanese design. Produced by the Choisy-le-Roi Manufactory, under the direction of Hippolyte Boulanger, at the end of the 19th century. The reverse bears an impressed "Choisy-le-Roi" stamp, characteristic of this period. A representative piece of the naturalist style and early Art Nouveau. Good overall condition, with some minor crazing.
