Bourdaloue In Chinese Porcelain, 18th Century

A Chinese famille rose porcelain urinal from the Qianlong period (1736-1795) with polychrome decoration of flowers and foliage. It has its lid. Oblong in shape, this small object, a kind of urinal, owes its name to the Jesuit priest Louis Bordaloue, whose long and eloquent sermons became indispensable to devout women.
