Brass Chandelier, Antique Dutch Period, 19th Century
Antique Dutch Brass Chandelier – 19th Century. A substantial antique chandelier of Dutch (or Flemish) origin, dating from the 19th century, crafted from cut brass, with six lights. This chandelier is distinguished by its massive and very heavy structure, a testament to its quality and period craftsmanship. The flat-cut, scalloped arms, the central brass sphere, and the openwork lower hook are characteristic of 19th-century Northern European production. The antique chain and the beautiful, unstripped original patina enhance its authenticity. Later rewiring, in good working order, respects the aesthetics of the period. This chandelier was intended for bourgeois interiors or period homes and today offers a strong decorative presence, ideal for a staircase, hall, or large room.
