"Antique Painting, Rouen School: Venice, Dorio Palace, By M. Vaumousse, Early 20th Century, Art Deco"
Antique painting, view of Venice, the Palazzo Dorio by Maurice Vaumousse. Oil on canvas painted around 1930, in very good condition, sold in its giltwood frame. Signed lower right. Beautiful colors, lovely atmosphere. Canvas dimensions: 27 cm x 35 cm; frame: 44 cm x 52 cm. His travels in Italy and Venice are described on page 80 of Lespinasse's book, "L'école de Rouen," which allows us to date this work to the 1930s, before the war. I have included a current photograph of the building for reference.
