Originally from Florence, Tuscany, and influenced by the Italian Impressionist Macchiaiolo, Gaston-Luciano Faraoni is a painter born in 1928. He draws inspiration from the landscape, whose bucolic atmosphere he exalts in a style of vibrant realism. His application of color perfectly imitates natural textures. The brushstroke is powerfully expressive and captures the characteristics of each form. Rejecting the traditional gliding brushstroke, which creates only an illusory texture, Faraoni's varied technique contributes to the evolution of natural texture. Endowed with great luminosity and a pastel quality to accurately render light hues and contrasts of light and shadow, Faraoni's brushwork is lively and evocative. Little by little, thus brushed, all the magic of the landscape emerges.
