Covered Powder Box With Floral Decoration – Roger Capron, Vallauris (1947)

A rare and remarkable covered powder box, decorated with a sculptural floral motif attributed to Roger Capron, depicting two double leaves and a stem blossoming from the body of the box to the open flower forming the knob on the lid. The whole creates an organic and harmonious composition of great finesse. The decoration is executed using the paraffin resist technique, lending depth and richness to the design while highlighting the freshness of the enamels. The piece is in perfect condition, without chips or cracks, and with exceptionally vibrant colors. The original powder puff is still present, an extremely rare feature. This is an absolutely rare model: after more than 20 years of collecting, this is the first example of this type I have ever encountered, without even having been aware of its existence before. The piece is signed under the base: CAPRON VALLAURIS A 47, confirming a very early production by the artist.
