Art Nouveau bronze plaque signed lower left by Alexandre Charpentier (1856–1909), a major French sculptor and medalist of the late 19th century, associated with Symbolist and Art Nouveau circles. Charpentier is renowned for the quality of his modeling and the restrained sensuality of his figures. The plaque is mounted on an antique reconstituted wood panel (such as hardboard or fiberboard). Dimensions of the bronze: 17.5 × 12.3 cmA silver print is kept at the Musée d'Orsay.
