Casserole In Mace And Gilt Bronze, 19th Century
An elegant covered cassolette vase, it stands on a black marble base resting on gilt bronze feet. The turned marble stem is adorned on the front with a faun's head surrounded by drapery. The two handles are formed by the heads of crowned winged women. The top of the lid terminates in a pomegranate. All the bronzes have a double patina highlighted with gold.
