Rare Polish-style Bed, Late 18th Century

Charming Polish-style bed with gray trim, perfect for adding a touch of elegance to a living room or bedroom.

Since all sides are upholstered and embellished with fabric, it can be placed in the center of a room, against a wall, or at an angle.

The curtains are upholstered in silk damask, and the bedspread is embroidered with moiré taffeta.
It is lined with cotton.

This Polish-style bed is mounted on wooden casters and is fully demountable.

The oval canopy features a striking two-arm circular wrought-iron system for adjusting the height.

The headboards are carved in a Louis XV style with a distinctive "donkey's back" design.

The legs and rails are fluted Louis XVI style.
It retains its original lag bolts, curtain rods, and screws.

Only one leg has required restoration.

The canopy has a fluted wooden core and is upholstered in piped cotton.

Each post has a double tieback.

Three cushions are inlaid with moiré damask, as is the comforter.

The bed originates from a beautiful property in Toulouse.
