Japanese Shodana lacquer cabinet decorated with birds (ducks) among branches and cherry blossoms. Meiji period, 19th century. This charming little cabinet opens with two doors decorated with a duck and a cane on water against a background of cherry blossom branches. Inside, it reveals six drawers decorated with bamboo leaves, and a lower drawer decorated with foliage and peony flowers. It is decorated on all sides and is presented in its original lacquer, elegant in proportion.
