A very elegant Directoire period portrait that we have cleaned. We have also re-stretched the canvas and reduced the significant craquelure. The old varnish was too thick and had dried out the canvas, creating unsightly waves and cracks. The painting had no major defects and retains its canvas and stretcher frame. Dimensions including frame (to be added later): 76 x 63 cm
