Heinz Wever (December 31, 1890 in Herscheid † August 15, 1966 in Bad Breisig) was a German painter and writer who attended the Düsseldorf Academy of Fine Arts between 1911 and 1913. After the First World War, he traveled extensively in Switzerland, Italy, and North Africa. He painted workers in the Sauerland region of Brandenburg. In 1924, for example, he created a painting entitled "Workers Returning from Duty." In 1926, he was one of the painters employed to prepare for the major social exhibition in Düsseldorf, and he executed several portraits of prominent figures in the city. After a long trip to the United States, he returned to Berlin in 1930 and created numerous illustrations and posters. During the Third Reich, he designed images for fascist propaganda, such as the poster featuring a photograph of Hermann Göring advertising an air-raid shelter in 1935.
