Willy Daro: Belgian designer and creator, active mainly between the 1960s and the early 1980s. He became known for his furniture, lighting, and decorative objects made in a luxurious and sculptural style, where he often combined bronze or brass with hard stones such as agate, quartz, or amethyst. He founded a workshop in Brussels (often referred to as “Willy Daro Lighting / Les Nouveaux Ateliers Willy Daro”), which produced both unique pieces and small series. His works are characterized by organic forms, inspired by nature: flowers, branches, coral, butterflies, etc. Some of his creations were distributed by international galleries and decorators, notably Maison Jansen in Paris, which contributed to his notoriety in the world of high-end design in the 1970s. Around the mid-1980s, the workshop ceased its activity and Willy Daro gradually withdrew from the design scene.
