Jean Charles Blais, born in 1956. His work first appeared publicly in the early 1980s with paintings on found materials, particularly torn posters. His first solo exhibition at the CAPC in Bordeaux in 1982 was followed by numerous presentations in galleries: Yvon Lambert in Paris, Leo Castelli in New York, Buchmann in Basel, Catherine Issert in Saint-Paul de Vence, and Kenji Taki in Tokyo. In 1987, he had a solo exhibition at the Centre Pompidou in Paris. This is an etching, one of an edition of 25, numbered and signed in pencil, and bearing the number 21. It is very representative of Jean Charles Blais's work. The work is framed; sheet dimensions 26 x 34 cm, framed dimensions 45 x 52 cm.
