Pair Of Medici Vases In Paris Porcelain, Circa 1830
Pair of Medici-shaped vases on feet, Paris porcelain, Louis Philippe period, circa 1830-1840. Decorated with a vine motif, the vases feature a frieze at the top and heads adorned with vine leaves and bunches of grapes. The white ground is decorated with rocaille cartouches in red, surrounded by gold and blue flowers and scrolls. The model is decorated with cabochon imitations of hardstones on a gold ground. One vase is in good condition; the other has been restored at the top and base. There is some wear to the gilding on both. They are 34cm high, with bases measuring 12x12cm. All questions welcome.
