A Louis XV Style Commode With Doors Made Of Precious Wood, Richly Inlaid With Floral Motifs.
A large, high-sided commode in precious wood, richly inlaid with floral motifs, typical of the Louis XV style, dating from the 19th century. The serpentine front comprises two doors adorned with marquetry featuring scrolling foliage arranged in a chevron pattern, demonstrating meticulous and refined cabinetmaking. It rests on cabriole legs terminating in gilt bronze sabots and features a shaped lower rail embellished with a central bronze ornament. The piece is topped with a well-proportioned marble slab, completing its overall elegance. The decorative bronze mounts (keyhole escutcheon, sabots, central ornament) are finely chased and in keeping with the period.
