Superb two-part Louis XV period buffet in solid honey cherry wood, 18th century. The lower section consists of two doors with arched tops, featuring strong molding and large original hinges. It has two large drawers, known as "knife drawers." The two front feet end in scrolls. The lower plinth is highly sculpted with a central fan-shaped decoration. The uprights are molded. The lower side plinth is shaped. The upper section consists of two doors adorned with very fine original keyhole escutcheons. Each door is composed of two highly shaped panels in a typically Louis XV style, like the lower doors, with triple molding. The frame also has strong molding. The upper plinth, in the shape of an arched top, is carved with a very elegant molding and a vase of flowers in its center. The sides consist of two panels. The whole is topped with a beautiful arched cornice. The piece is made of solid cherry wood with a superb honey hue. The four doors and the Two drawers have their original locks and keys. The upper door lock is a three-point "Bordeaux" type. The interior shelves are lined with fabric. Some minor restorations. Original hand-sawn oak back panels.
