I'm not sure whether to first describe it as a Gothic cross to place it in its historical context, or whether to emphasize the fact that it's been stripped. That is to say, the symbolism of the tree of life is represented by these strips (like pieces of branches cut along the trunk). No matter, everyone will have their own priorities. A beautiful wrought iron piece that has survived many centuries and adventures.
