Antique and elegant glazed ceramic vase from the Haviland & Co. workshop. The decoration is monogrammed ED for Édouard Dammouse, a major figure in late 19th-century French ceramics. Rectangular in shape with softened corners, this vase features a hand-painted floral design composed of white flowers and one orange flower, delicately set against a deep green background with cloudy hues. Typical of the Impressionist movement, the glossy glaze highlights the rich colors and subtle painterly work. – Height: 21 cm – Width: 11.5 cm.
Very good overall condition, minor chips to the base.

Édouard Alexandre Dammouse, Paris 1850 - 1903 Sèvres. Son of the sculptor Pierre Adolphe Dammouse of the Sèvres manufactory and brother of Albert. After working at Laurin with Ernest Chaplet, he followed him to Auteuil, where he is first recorded in September 1876. He remained at the Auteuil workshop for ten years, until 1885. At that time, he followed Ernest Chaplet when the workshop moved to Rue Bolet. He then became a stoneware decorator in the naturalistic and Japonist style. After the closure of the Haviland workshops (winter 1885-1886), he and his brother Albert moved into their workshop on Rue Fontaine in Sèvres to create stoneware and decorative enamel panels.
