Bronze With Patina, Pierre-jules Mêne – Hunting Valet Of Louis XV
Important bronze group with nuanced brown patina and medallion, depicting Louis XV's hunting servant accompanied by his herd, after Pierre-Jules Mêne. Posthumous cast, signed on the base "PJ Mêne 1869". This remarkable work illustrates Mêne's mastery of animal sculpture, through the quality of the chasing and the dynamism of the composition.
