A charming oil lamp head, originally placed on Louis XIV or Regency period candlesticks, made from cast bronze with two spouts, a hinged, cut-out lid, and heart-shaped finial.
This design allowed for economy at period, as olive oil was commonly used, and candles, expensive,  were reserved for special occasions in modest homes.
This oil lamp head was moved from candlestick to candlestick, from one occupied room to another.
Dimensions: diameter 8cm, height 7cm;
Condition: Good, some wear, oil and two wicks are missing. Please examine our photos carefully. This item is available for immediate purchase, payable by credit card or PayPal.
