George Nelson Small Desk Herman Miller Contura
Artist: Nelson, George.
EOG (Executive Office Group) flat desk designed by George Nelson for Contura under license from Herman Miller, designed in 1949 and produced until 1978. This model is distinguished by its rectangular top in American walnut veneer, combined with a functional side cabinet opening to reveal three drawers, topped by a partially enclosed compartment. The tubular chromed steel base, assembled in an H-shape and resting on pads, underscores the rigorous and rational aesthetic of 1950s American modernist design. A desk with concise proportions, it integrates elegantly into smaller spaces, including in a central position in a room. The key is no longer available. W 162 cm x D 76 cm x H 75 cm. Usable height 72 cm. Drawers D 57 cm x H 13 cm. Signs of normal wear on the desktop, light scratches, discoloration mark (on the palm rest) (see photos). .
