Curved Commode With Marquetry And Bronze "blind Man's Bluff Scene"
A charming Louis XV style commode with a bombé front. The front features two drawers with concealed support rails, adorned with marquetry depicting figures playing blind man's bluff in a park against a satinwood background arranged in a frieze pattern within a frame. This asymmetrical rocaille bronze mount consists of large, polylobed scrolls decorated with flowing foliage, extending from the commode to form the drawer pulls. Each edge is embellished with bronze drops featuring foliate motifs. The feet are adorned with bronze sabots. The whole is topped with a breccia marble slab from Aleppo. Oak lining.
