Oil on canvas, thickly impastoed, by the Provençal master Pierre Ambrogiani, born in Ajaccio in 1907. He pursued his career primarily in Marseille. Dimensions: 73cm x 54cm plus frame (frame can be changed). Using thick impasto with pure colors, he said, "I would like to paint with the colors of the sun." He achieved international success. Recognized by his peers, he is considered the greatest Provençal artist of his generation. His expressionist painting sometimes borders on abstraction. Pure colors are applied with a palette knife.
