Ceramic Lamp From Montigny-sur-loing, With A 19th-century Chiseled Bronze Mount
Earthenware or ceramic lamp from Montigny-sur-Loing, signed FN (mark to be identified). The ceramists of Montigny-sur-Loing drew inspiration from the Impressionist movement to create pieces using a slip-painting technique with colored clay and metallic oxides. This antique oil lamp, now electrified, features a colorful floral design with some relief and is mounted on a chased gilt bronze base. The globe is engraved. Height: 40 cm (including globe) and 79 cm (including glass).
