Anto Diez was a Belgian artist born in 1914 in Ixelles and died in 1992 in Bredene.
A painter, draftsman, and engraver, he was the son and student of the Spanish painter Mariano Diez y Sanchez (1879-1957).
He studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels under H. Van Haelen, A. Carte, and A. Bastien (1934-1938).
He began his career with expressionist landscapes and portraits before moving towards a stylized symbolism, with women and the female figure being a major source of inspiration.
