Pair Of Art Deco Lounge Chairs - Rosewood And Leather (circa 1930-1940)
Exceptional pair of salon or bridge chairs in the Art Deco style, dating from the 1930-1940 period. They stand out due to their clean lines and elegance, typical of this era.
Structure and WoodMaterial: Crafted from high-quality Rosewood, offering rich and contrasting grain, particularly visible on the backrest. The wood displays a warm, deep hue, accentuated by a varnished finish.
Design: The silhouette is characterized by a curved backrest and round armrests ending in tapered and fluted uprights and legs, typical of Art Deco refinement. The backrest is made of vertical Rosewood veneer.
These chairs are sold in their original, "as is" condition, requiring restoration to regain their splendor.
Wood: The solid and veneered Rosewood structure is sound and stable. Note some minor missing veneer patches or wear on the backrest that will need to be filled.
Upholstery: The seat is covered with a burgundy/brown embossed leather (crocodile/lizard style) secured by upholstery tacks. The leather is unusable and heavily worn, showing significant tears and missing pieces (see photos).
Stuffing/Padding: The interior padding (springs/foam) is in good condition and can be reused after re-stuffing and re-covering. The buyer should plan for a complete re-upholstering of the covering.
