Designed to be placed in the center of a room, the back panel is magnificently adorned with three large molded cartouches containing stylized "diamond points," embellished with engraved plant motifs and scrolls. This meticulous decorative work adds considerable character to the piece. It features a wide central drawer and two columns of three drawers each within the pedestals (seven drawers in total – it should be verified whether the bottom drawers are not false drawers for hanging files). The handles are carved solid wood knobs, integrated into the piece, typical of the sturdy furniture of this period.
