Synthetic rubies, first produced in the early 20th century using the Verneuil process, experienced a surge in popularity during the Art Deco period.
Their vibrant color and purity made them a highly prized material among jewelers.
In the 1920s and 1930s, they were widely used to create geometric patterns emblematic of the Art Deco style, often in combination with onyx, platinum, and diamonds.
The setting beneath the stones is openwork. Very beautiful brilliance and exquisite craftsmanship.
