The sculpture depicts carved religious scenes from the Bible. The lower part of the fragment features an inscription, likely in a Greek or Hebrew-Aramaic language, which was used to write the earliest texts of the Bible. The sculpture features a stylized cross in the central part, while another cross is carved in the upper part. Next to it are two birds perched on a structure that appears to be an altar or a low wall. These birds often represent the human soul that desires to rise above earthly life and approach the spiritual. In another vision, the birds could symbolize the faithful who nourish themselves with the word of Christ.
