One side features a coat of arms surmounted by an eagle, flanked by a cornucopia overflowing with fruits and vegetables, symbolizing a rich and abundant cuisine. The other side depicts a magnificent fleur-de-lis with roots protruding from it, suggesting it will anchor itself firmly in the ground. The interior is tin-lined with graduated scales and a handle to assist in lifting the measure when it is full or partially filled. This is a very rare early 19th-century item that has survived to the present day and is in good condition with signs of use and age.
