A Richly Carved Armchair, Louis XVI Period. Attributed To Delaisement
A beechwood armchair, entirely lacquered and very richly carved and molded;
the back features stylized leaves in the four corners, the armrests are decorated with rosettes and acanthus leaves, the supports of which, carved with delicate descending garlands, rest on fluting and rosette-shaped finials.
The rounded seat rail is adorned with heart-shaped motifs.
This armchair rests on small, tapered, fluted, and reeded legs.
Louis XVI period.
Given its dimensions, it is possible that this armchair was a special commission, particularly for a child born into the aristocracy, or even better, of noble lineage.
It is also very comfortable, especially when getting up from it.
This armchair is in perfect condition.
Upholstered in yellow embossed velvet with floral patterns (a very small, almost invisible stain).
This armchair can be attributed, given its extreme originality in its sculpture and its format, to the cabinetmaker Nicolas Louis DELAISEMENT, received as a Master in 1776, who always distinguished himself by a great refinement in the execution of his seats.
