Vintage rivière necklace adorned with citrines, early 20th century. Provenance: probably Great Britain, first half of the 20th century. A rivière necklace is a classic and very elegant piece of jewelry composed of a row of identical or decreasingly sized stones. A style of jewelry very fashionable in the early 20th century, it was most often adorned with amethysts, citrines, topaz, or diamonds. The stones are arranged side by side, creating a continuous and flowing line, hence its name "river." This necklace is made of 900 sterling silver plated with gold. It is adorned with 33 citrines, with a total weight of approximately 60 carats. Weight: 29.75 g. Length: 40 cm. A gemological laboratory certificate is provided.
