Two-part Carved Hunting Buffet.
A very beautiful carved sideboard featuring hunting and fishing motifs. Bunches of fruit adorn the uprights and a vine decorates the drawer. With its chimeras, it is truly inspired by Renaissance and early French sideboards. This solid oak sideboard opens at the top with two stained-glass doors and bottle-bottom moldings, revealing two carved shelves. A large drawer with cutlery compartments is located in the center. Two doors at the bottom also reveal a shelf. The pediment is removable. The carvings were entirely executed by hand and testify to the skill of 19th-century French cabinetmakers.
