Vase by Pierre Roulot, in ceramic with a hardstone-like glaze. Pierre Roulot (1917–2007) was a French ceramist and sculptor, trained in drawing and sculpture in Paris. Introduced to ceramics during the Second World War, he later specialized in stoneware and earthenware, creating utilitarian, figurative, and decorative pieces. His style blends folk influences, clean lines, and Mediterranean or Japanese inspiration. Winner of the Blumenthal Prize and several international awards, he also taught ceramics at the École Duperré, training a new generation of artists.
