Interesting Detail: Silver Chimera Heads, Elements Of Louis XV Period Racing Sleigh

The sleigh races of Palace of Versailles, during Regency and reign of Louis XV, were very apreciate.  King himself and his daughter distinguished themselves in sleighs, each more magnificent than the last.

We have these remnants of this joyful magnificence: two wooden handles in shape of chimera heads, silvered and slightly polychrome, which seem to have come from this type of racing carriage, often made of silvered and gilded wood, used with enthusiasm throughout Europe…
Length of each carved pommel: 10 cm. The wood appears to be walnut, and heads are carved to appear as a pair.
