Emmy Leuze-Hirschfeld, born Émilie Leuze on December 4, 1884, in Vienna, Austria, also known as Emmy Marie Wilhelmine, was a painter who died in 1976. She became a naturalized French citizen in 1921.[2] Emmy Leuze-Hirschfeld studied at the Vienna School of Arts and Crafts. In 1905, she arrived in Concarneau and married Emil-Benediktoff Hirschfeld in 1906.[3] This painting is a probable portrait of her husband, who died in 1922, seven years after this portrait. Dimensions of the nude pastel: 32 x 43 cm. Signed and dated 1915.
