Charming Aubusson tapestry, woven in the 18th century, depicting a beautiful verdant scene unfolding a poetic landscape.
Trees with lush foliage, bluish depths, and, in the background, a small village whose rooftops emerge delicately among the branches.
The whole creates a peaceful and bucolic atmosphere, characteristic of the taste for verdure that made the manufactory famous.
This central scene is magnificently highlighted by a wide border richly adorned with flowers, leaves, and an elegant bow, lending the tapestry balance, grace, and sophistication.
The wool work, the shades of blue and green, as well as the delicacy of the decoration, testify to the exceptional skill of the Aubusson workshops during this period.
