By the Flemish painter and historian Pieter Ledoulx born in Bruges in 1730, these two portraits sham making for representing two suburbs of Bruges.
This passionate artist of Bruges, whose rare work provides valuable evidence of the city of Bruges in the eighteenth century, depicted here in sham truculent characters wonderfully encamped, we guess cheeky, and whose gaze converges to gauge in a typical habitat consists of brick and stained glass.
Both oils, enhanced by pleasant Flemish style frames are signed P. Ledoulx lower left by the artist and dated 1782.
