A consummate businessman, Sciolari was also a creative designer. Throughout his career, he designed magnificent and incredible lighting fixtures such as the “Mod A5011” pendant lamp (circa 1950), the “4079” floor lamp (1965), and of course, the Cubic chandelier (1970s). Angelo Gaetano Sciolari was born in 1927 in Italy. After graduating from architecture school, the young man returned to his first passion: cinema, and in particular, filmmaking. However, after his father's death in 1949, Sciolari had no choice but to take over the family lighting manufacturing business. In just a few years, the designer transformed the company and propelled it onto the international stage. The lighting company Sciolari has become the number one Italian seller of lighting fixtures in the United States (products imported by America by Lightolier & Progress Lighting)! Sciolari's designs were even featured in the popular TV series Dallas! Gaetano is not only a brilliant entrepreneur but also a prolific and talented designer. He has worked for major design names such as Stilnovo, Boulanger, and Stilkronen.
