Christ of the Divine Passion, Flemish School, 17th century. Oil on oak panel — H. 64.5 cm × W. 50 cm. In this fervently inspired work, Christ of the Divine Passion stands majestically. Bathed in dramatic light, Christ's body dominates a mystical landscape, and the Hebrew inscription "Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews" reinforces its spiritual authenticity. The richly carved and gilded period frame adds a sacred aura. Interestingly, just recently, on November 30, 2025, Osenat auction house sold a Rubens painting, "Christ on the Cross," for nearly $3.7 million. This event underscores the current appeal of Flemish masterpieces from this period. Our painting, from the same tradition, thus represents a rare opportunity to acquire a work in this spirit at a fraction of that price.
