"Meissen - Potpourri With Cupids"
A polychrome and gilt Meissen porcelain potpourri vase decorated with two cupids: one seated on the ground playing with a dog, the other leaning against a tree trunk, holding a garland of flowers. (Potpourri mit Amoretten). This model was created by Johann Joachim Kaendler and his collaborators in 1748. The vase rests on a round base, and its removable lid features a perched bird decorated with vine tendrils, as well as a finely painted courting scene. In very good condition, with some minor losses to the leaves. Marked with blue crossed swords and numbered 1009, early 19th century. Listed in Bergmann's catalogue.
