"Surrealist Painting: The Rise Of Woman "
René Pelousse was a Belgian painter born in 1917 in Marcinelle and died in 1977 in Mont-sur-Marchienne. A self-taught artist, he always received guidance and support from L. Van Den Houten. He drew upon symbolism, fantasy, and surrealism, finding inspiration, among other sources, in Eastern mythology. In his works, he evokes a baroque world of lost continents and petrified splendor, populated by fabulous figures and virgins. The works exude mysticism, a touch of eroticism, and a certain nostalgia for lost purity. Initially, he focused on drawing and lines, then on color and volume. He participated in the creation of the "Entre Nous" group in Châtelet. He worked, among other places, at the Charleroi Museum. (PIRON) The work is on unalite.
