"Enamelled Gold And Diamond Brooch Depicting Athena"
Circular 18k gold brooch, centered with a profile portrait of Athena (Minerva), painted in enamel on a radiant blue translucent guilloché background. The goddess is depicted wearing a richly decorated helmet and armor, executed in sculpted gold in relief, punctuated with small old-cut diamonds set on the helmet. An exceptional combination of guilloché, painted enamel, sculpted gold in relief, and diamond setting, illustrating exceptional jewelry and enameling skill. Dimensions: approx. 4 × 3.5 cm. Condition: perfect; enamel intact, chased gold remarkably fresh, diamonds fully set. Attribution: Probably the Meyle & Mayer workshop, Pforzheim, renowned for its mythological portraits in guilloché enamel.
