"3rd Century Bc – Cross-shaped Lekythos, Art Of Magna Graecia"
Magnificent small vase in the shape of a lekythos, decorated with crosshatching, representative of the art of Magna Graecia in the 3rd century BC. The object has remained in its original state and is in very good condition. This lekythos has been authenticated by the Borowski Archaeology Gallery, Paris VII — a firm renowned for its expertise in classical and Near Eastern archaeology. It then entered a private collection in 1978. The Borowski Gallery, active during the second half of the 20th century, was responsible for the distribution of many major pieces now held in international institutions such as the Louvre Museum, the Getty Museum, and several other prestigious collections. Numerous major auctions (Sotheby's, Christie's, etc.) have featured works from this same provenance. The strength of this provenance and the expertise gained from this expertise give this lekythos particular interest, both for collectors and for enthusiasts of classical archaeology.
