19th Century Mahogany Marine Travel Writing Case

Superb mahogany writing case/box, originally used on ships in the late 19th century. In perfect condition. It comes complete with its original contents: inkwell, pen holder, seals, letters, clock, etc. The writing surface is lined with leather (relatively recent) and features nautical anchors at the corners. Numerous secret compartments include a large drawer on the side of the case, which is released when a brass rod is pulled. The brass lock has its key and is functional. Its dimensions in cm: length 50, depth 25, height 16. The depth when the case is in the writing position is 52. A rare, decorative, and authentic item, ideal for collectors of maritime artifacts or historical writing instruments.
