Leather box with embossed decoration on a wooden core, with a rounded profile. France, 17th century. Interior with its original marbled paper and textile loops for hanging papers and letters. Original lock. Original metal reinforcements on the outer lock plate. The box rests on four small, flattened olive feet (possibly not original). Dimensions: 27.8 x 18.4 x 13.2 cm. Note: minor damage and wear.
