"Self-portrait, Oil On Canvas, 19th Century"
Large oil on canvas, self-portrait of an anonymous 19th-century painter, depicting the artist in three-quarter view. He portrays himself facing his easel, a brush in hand, in his studio, his gaze directly engaging the viewer. He seems to have a cold or observant expression, or perhaps he is simply searching for detail with his furrowed brows? Beside him, a modest but well-stocked bookcase, and other canvases hang on the wall. Keyed frame, painting cleaned by our workshop. Old restoration to two tears visible only on the back. Unsigned work. Dimensions of the painting alone: Height 98.5 cm Width: 72.7 cm Information and additional photos available upon request
